‘Super Tuesday’ Trick Used by Malicious Scammers

Sophos security Software Company have reported a new malware that comes to target users interested in next US election, the executable file is called Super_Tuesday_2012_voting_information.exe , and this is actually a malicious software that have nothing to do with the US day of election.

By executing the file victim will connect to a remote web server located in the Russian cyberspace to download the malware and install spoolsvr.exe, while to avoid suspicion criminal also create a pdf file called Super_Tuesday_2012_voting_information.pdf.

Sophos flags the new malware as a Troj/ST2012V-A , while this is not the first case observed by the company that is using US election for spreading malwares.
