AV-Test Security Product Review – 2011/Q1
AV-Test released the first quarter report for this year that is dedicated to evaluate 22 security products, the test has been performed on Windows 7 32-bit platform and looks for protection against 0-day malware attacks, the capacity of these software to block new malware using the dynamic detection and checking whether the security product able to detect widespread malware.
Testing the protection may not be completed without checking software repairing capabilities, some security products after cleaning your machine they may leave your computer unbootable, so it will be important to see after the infection that your computer have been back to productivity without any troubles.
Usability comes as important as the protection capabilities because you will not install security product and keeps looking at the screen while the computer is freezing, so testing the product memory usage is part of the system availability.
